History

James D. Jennings and his wife, Helen, acquired the gas station located on the corner of Hall Ave and East Waylon Jennings Boulevard in Littlefield, Texas in 1971. James worked as a mechanic for many years until they converted it into a liquor store in 2005 with a drive thru where the shop bays once were.

They also added a room to honor and display objects and information about James’ older brother, singer, songwriter, and iconic musician, Waylon Jennings. It’s a one of a kind Waylon Jennings Museum.

T-shirts, hats, music, and stickers are available to purchase.

If James is around, he will gladly tell stories and history of his famous brother and many more wonderful stories.

It stands as a museum today, named after Waylon’s nickname, Waymore. According to James, the actual origin of his nickname is mostly unknown.
